A little bit about me, Shawn T. Martinez.

I am a born and raised Alaskan for 34 years, and have had a passion for working on automotive since I was around 13 years old. My father ( Kenneth Martinez ) is the person who I thank for showing me my abilities. I have been working professionally in the automotive field for 15 years now.I am married to Cherianna Martinez, and have been with my wife happily for 11 years. I am ASE certified. I was also 1 of the 2 Referee’s for the Vehicle Emissions Program. I have worked at a few shops over this 15 year time, and although I loved my job, I always felt I wanted to do more. As the fall of the I/M program drew closer, I did a lot of thinking and knew that having my own shop was the way to go. Customer service is a big deal for me, and giving 110% is always a must.

How I started in Automotive

Here is a little story of how I got started in the Automotive Life Style.  My Father and I were at home one day, and he really needed to get his brakes done on the Caddy. He had a disability that made it hard for him to be able to kneel down, and be able to work on his own car. So what he did, he showed me how to jack up the vehicle, and remove the wheels. Once I had access to the brakes, he looked at me and said. ” O.K. there are the parts in the front seat, and the tools you need are in the back seat”   then casually went inside the house, sat down and turned on the T.V. There was parts for the front and rear of this fine vehicle, and a box of tools just sitting there. I sat there for a minute, and was like, ” what the heck am I suppose to do? ” So I just went with it, taking things apart, and putting them back as they came off. Some time went by, I won’t say how long. C’mon it was my first brake job. I completed the job, I went inside and told my father I was done. We went on a test drive, we barley got out of our drive way, and my father said. ” Did you bleed the brakes? ” So that day I also learned how to bleed brakes.
